The most interesting thing about this project is the concept- a very small "micro-mini-mill" designed to recycle scrap from a relatively small geographical area. The small scale reduces production and transportation costs and creates a "greener" steel mill. The major challenge was the erection needed to all be done from outside the building footprint. Sections of frames with purlins and roof panel were pre-assembled and lifted into place and set on the columns. Total square footage is approximately 133,500. The exhaust penthouse rises to over 110 above the finished floor.
