Description:
Known as the JetBlue Technical Operations Campus, this 100,000 sq. ft. facility located at John F. Kennedy International Airport, provides space for offices, workshops and a state-of-the-art automated parts retrieval and storage system.
The 300' clearspan building provides ample room for JetBlue to simultaneously hangar three Airbus A320 aircraft. The hangar door opening was designed to accommodate a 280' wide by 45' tall vertical lift fabric door, provided and installed by Megadoor®.
Butler Heavy Structures was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the primary and secondary steel, roof and wall systems. The buildings features Butler’s MR-24® painted roof system and 2-inch foam Thermawall® wall panels.
The General Contractor for the project was Turner Construction Company, with Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK) as the Architect.
