Description:
With the steady growth of their congegration since their
beginning in 1948 and after five other building programs,
the Beacon Baptist Church embarked on their sixth
construction project to accommodate their current 1,400 member congegration.
The structural steel design and fabrication for this new 36,084
sq. ft. church was supplied by Butler Heavy Structures. The
focal point of this facility is the sanctuary that is an unequal side octagon that spans 116' and 171'. Tiered seating was supported by steel stringer beams as part of the building
structure.
The roof was clad with Butler’s VSR™ architectural standing seam roof system and Butlerib® II for the fascia. The remainder of the facility is masonry.
