With over 100 years of experience, Scot Forge leads the industry as one of the most modern and respected forging companies in the world. They operate from five different plants, totaling 1,000,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space.
Heavy Structures designed, supplied and coordinated the installation of the structural steel and cladding materials for this new 50,340 sq. ft. addition to the existing facility in Spring Grove, IL.
The new facility is divided into four areas. The forge area houses a 75-ton top running crane for material movement. Design challenges included a pie-shaped tie-in building as well as a rolling roof door for ventilation from the extreme temperatures in the building of up to 200°F.
Metal roof and wall systems were used on the facility.
