Description:
Butler Heavy Structures designed and supplied the structural steel for this 66,500 sq. ft. facility. The building contains two 80' wide crane aisles and has the capacity to support a future third 80' aisle. The first aisle holds a 5-ton and a 10-ton top running bridge crane, and two 3-ton gantry cranes. The second aisle has a 5-ton and a 25-ton top running bridge crane and the future third aisle was designed for a 50-ton top running bridge crane. BHS used a traditional rigid frame concept, but supplied customized built-up columns, with W-sections for the flanges to support the crane loads. The framing system had to withstand snow and wind loads as well as the effects of the moving cranes, and also support four enormous roof-mounted HVAC units. Running along the exterior of the of the outside wall is a lean-to that provided additional floor space. Other Butler products on the building include StylWall® II flat wall system, Texture-Cote™ finish system, MR-24® standing seam roof system, and VSR™ architectural standing seam roof system.
