Description:
Over 43,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space is enclosed in this three-story building designed and fabricated by Butler Heavy Structures. The system consists of hot-rolled steel members for the columns, roof and floor beams, with bar joists spaced on 2'-6" centers supporting a 28-gage galvanized steel deck on the second and third floors. The floors were designed to carry a 100 psf live load and a 10 psf collateral load.
The roof utilizes Butler’s MR-24® standing seam roof system over Z-shaped, cold-formed secondary members. Hot rolled H-section members and structural tubes provided lateral support for the exterior brick and stucco wall cladding. Architectural features such as bay windows and the five-sided building entry were accommodated with outrigger beams and structural channels. The building also features a roof-mounted skylight above a full height atrium and a VSR™ fascia system.
