Description:
Heavy Structures performed the structural steel design and fabricated and supplied nearly 100 tons of structural steel framing for this two-story medical office. Hot-rolled H-sections were used for the roof and floor framing members, as well as for the main support columns. Bar joists and a 26-gauge galvanized steel deck provided support for the second floor while cold-formed Z-section members were used for the secondary roof framing.
A brick and stucco facade and an intricately detailed roof enhance the exterior of this 25,000 sq. ft. facility. In plan, the main body of the roof resembles a cross with four large dormers over portions of the building and a 3'-6" overhang around the entire perimeter. An architectural metal roof system was used on roof slopes of 2:12, 3:12, 5:12 and 8:12 to achieve an attractive architectural effect. The architectural metal roof system was also used on the 23' x 40' canopy at the entrance to the building.
